Pathankot: India's first Apache AH 64 E helicopter will join the Airforce on Tuesday (3 September). 4 helicopters will join the Air Force after the ceremony at the Pathankot Airbase, a few kilometers from the Pakistan border. With the arrival of Apache, India will get a powerful weapon against the enemy. Apache can be used for infallible attacks on enemy tank squads, trains, training camps. Apache's first squadron will be stationed at Pathankot, before which the commanding officer will be Group Captain M. Shailu. The 125 helicopter squadron (125 H SQUADRON) already deployed in Pathankot currently flies MI-35 helicopters and will now be the first Apache squadron in the country. The second squadron will be stationed at Jorhat in Assam. It is likely that by 2020 all the Apache helicopters will be delivered to the Indian Airforce.

The Apache AH 64 E helicopter is equipped with a 30 mm machine gun, which can carry 1200 rounds of tuck firing at a time. Apache can fly at a speed of 150 nautical miles, which helps it to reach the enemy with tremendous speed in the air.
