Srinagar: The Indian Army's 'all out' operation against terrorists is underway in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In the last 24 hours, the army has killed 6 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Some of these terrorists were also involved in the recent killings of civilians. However, during this operation, 5 army personnel including a JCO have also attained valour. According to police, there have been 5 encounters between security forces and terrorists in the last 30 hours.

An army killed a terrorist in an encounter in Anantnag on Monday morning. A Jammu and Kashmir police jawan was also injured during the encounter. No information regarding the terrorist has been received so far. Security forces launched an anti-terror operation in Anantnag as well as Bandipora. One terrorist was killed in this encounter. The slain terrorist was identified as Imtiaz Ahmed Dar, who was associated with lashkar-e-taiba (LeT). The terrorist was involved in the killing of an ordinary citizen in Shahgund. The army had launched a search operation in Tulran area of the district late in the night. Three terrorists were gunned down by the army in an encounter that lasted for several hours here. The terrorists have been identified as Danish Ahmed, Yawar Ahmed and Mukhtar Ahmed.

Two pistols and a Ak-47 have also been recovered from the possession of the militants. Mukhtar Ahmed was involved in the murder of an ordinary citizen in Gandarbal. A search operation was launched in Feripora area of the district on Tuesday morning. There was also an encounter between the security forces and the terrorists. There is a terrorist pile up in it. The army search operation is still going on in the area.
