New Delhi: On Tuesday, two militants were killed by security forces in an ongoing encounter in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. However, a CRPF jawan has also been killed in this encounter. The encounter began early Tuesday in Bandju area of Pulwama district. The jawans came to know about the hideout of the terrorists in the village, after which a search operation was carried out by sieging the area. During this time, firing also started.
In the encounter, a CRPF jawan was injured after being shot, who later died. It is being told that two to three terrorists may be hiding in the area. A spokesman for the Indian Army said that two AK-47s have been recovered from the encounter site. A search operation is still being run in the entire area. Earlier, three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. A police officer said that on the basis of intelligence information about the hideout of militants in the Junimar area of the city, security forces surrounded the area on Sunday morning and started a search operation.
Security forces have killed 92 terrorists in 36 operations in 2020. While more than 126 helpers have been arrested. More than 150 terrorists were killed in 2019 and more than 250 in 2018. Of the 92 terrorists killed, only 35 are from Hizbul. Several commanders, including the commander-in-chief of the organization, Riyaz Naiku, have also been piled up.
