New Delhi: If the Road Transport and Heavy Industries Ministry's plan is successful, trucks will soon be able to run electric instead of diesel. Yes, the Ministry of Road Transport and Heavy Industries are working on a joint project of this kind. It also plans to start a trial run of electric trucks on the under-construction Green Express Highway between Delhi and Mumbai.

If the trial run of the ministry is successful, a separate corridor will be constructed for electric trucks on the highway under construction between Delhi and Mumbai. According to information provided by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, a 10-km corridor will be constructed in the green express highway under construction between Delhi and Mumbai with the help of the Ministry of Heavy Industries. having electric wires.

He said the 80-tonne electric truck will be connected to the pantograph with the help of these wires. Gadkari said trucks plying on the corridor will also have the option of battery. With the help of pantographs, the truck will cover a distance of a few km. The battery of the truck will be charged back during this time period. After which the trucks can be operated by the battery. When the battery is discharged, the trucks will resume running on electricity.
