Ruckus over workers' rent, railway's order letter surfaced

New Delhi: Mahabharata has sparked the return of the trapped laborers in various states of the country due to the lockdown. Many opposition parties, including Congress, have been strongly critical of the central government taking rent from the workers. Special trains have been run for laborers in the name of Shramik Train, on whose fare the whole controversy has arisen.

Amidst the political rhetoric, the letter of the Indian Railways has come out, in which the Railways has asked the State Governments to take the ticket money from the passengers and give that money to the Railways. In this letter of May 2, the Railway Ministry has talked about the provision of special trains for migrant workers, devotees, passengers, students and people stuck in lockdown at different places.

The letter states that the state from which these special trains will miss, will print railway tickets according to the list provided by the state government and provide it to the state government. After this, these tickets will be given to the local administration passengers and they will collect the fare from them and the money will be given to the Railways. Sonia Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav have also surrounded the government regarding this issue, and condemned the decision to collect rent from the workers.
