New Delhi: Indian Railways is running hundreds of trains daily to take migrant workers to their homes. Railway has so far operated more than 3600 Shamik special trains in which more than 48 lakh migrant workers and laborers have reached their destination. There have also been reports of passengers dying due to heat and hunger during the journey. Meanwhile, the Railways has claimed that it is providing food on the seats of Shramik special trains.

Railway has tweeted with a picture that the passengers are being given food on the seat in Shramik Special Trains. In this picture, food is seen on the seat. Indian Railways claims that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has distributed more than 78 lakh free food packets and more than 1.10 crore water bottles to the migrants traveling.

However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh while sharing the video said that 7 people have died due to hunger and thirst while traveling in the train. He tweeted, 'Due to delay of trains, 7 people died due to hunger and thirst. File an FIR against the culprits.' Indian Railways is going to run 200 passenger trains from June 1. Lakhs of passengers have booked tickets for it. Ticket booking counters have been opened. Railways have also released the list of stations where these trains will halt.
