New Delhi: Indian Railways is achieving new heights by providing better facilities to passengers. Indian Railways is also trying to increase the railway network in the field of development. In this sequence, the Railway Board is now engaged in the process of connecting all the capitals of the North-Eastern states with the rail network.

According to Indian Railways, after three years i.e. by 2023, all the capitals of the North-Eastern states will be connected to the rail network. According to the Railway Board, Indian Railways has seen a lot of development in the last 5 years. In order to promote rail connectivity, Railways is engaged in the exercise of connecting the capitals of all the northeastern states with the rail network. Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav said that till now the capitals of Assam, Tripura and Arunachal in the northeast have been connected by the rail network.

He said that now the work of connecting the capitals of Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim by rail is going on. Railways have also prepared a plan for this. Railways is working towards completing this work in the next three years i.e. by 2013. According to the chairman of the Railway Board, there are plans to add Manipur and Meghalaya by March 2022, Mizoram and Nagaland by March 2023 and Sikkim by December 2023.
