Fog and cold wave disturb North India, weather department predicts

New Delhi: North India is celebrating Republic day today with a severe cold. The impact of heavy snowfall in hilly areas has been seen in the plains of North India. With severe cold conditions, dense fog and cold wave conditions have disturbed the people. Dense fog has also been capped in other provinces including Delhi, Haryana, UP, Bihar. The operation of several trains has been affected due to fog.

More than 22 trains are running late due to dense fog. At present, cold and dense fog will not provide relief. According to the Met department, there may be more severe cold for 3-4 days at present. According to the weather department, the capital city of Delhi will face more cold for the next two to three days. The minimum temperature is likely to fall to 4 °c.

The weather department's Kuldeep Srivastava informed that the maximum temperature is likely to be 16 °c. This major change in the weather has been caused by the arrival of north-west winds. In Uttar Pradesh, the minimum mercury is estimated to be 7 degrees and maximum mercury at 18 degrees in Meerut today.
