IndiGo, India's largest airline company, has exciting news for travelers! They've just announced a new direct flight route between Mumbai and Ayodhya, starting from January 15, 2024.
This announcement comes after their recent decision to introduce flights from Delhi to Ayodhya beginning December 30. Additionally, they're planning to commence flights from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya on January 11, 2024.
Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, shared that these new routes will greatly boost travel, tourism, and business in the region. This will not only stimulate economic growth but also provide easier access to Ayodhya for tourists across India and abroad through the 6E network.
Another airline, Air India Express, is also joining in. They'll start their flights to Ayodhya from Delhi on December 30 and will have daily services from January 16.
About the airport itself: The DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) recently granted a license for the upcoming Ayodhya airport. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has developed this airport at a cost of approximately Rs 350 crore.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia mentioned earlier in December that the Ayodhya airport will be fully ready by the end of the month. The inauguration is anticipated to be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
