7.3-Strong Earthquake Hits Indonesia, "Threat Of Tsunami Also Prevailing"

Tremors of magnitude 7.7 have been felt in eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, followed by a tsunami warning. the US Geological Survey said the earthquake occurred about 100 kilometers north of the city of Maumere at a depth of 18.5 kilometers (11 miles) in the Flores Sea at 03:20 GMT.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has said that "dangerous waves are expected to occur near the coasts up to 1,000 km (600 miles) of the earthquake center.", the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said. USGS has said that there is little risk of casualties, while the threat of tsunamis and landslides is increasing even faster due to recent earthquakes.
