Indore: In the fourth phase of lockdown, amid curfew issued in the city, the district administration has given some more relaxation for different sections. Among these, government and semi-government offices will be opened with staff up to 50 percent. In Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Fruit and Vegetable (Choitharam) Mandi, farmers have been allowed to buy and sell potato-onion and garlic. Similarly, online food supply companies have been given exemption for home delivery of food.

Due to the possibility of farmers losing potatoes, onions and garlic in the district due to the lockdown, the district administration has given permission to buy and sell it in Choithram Mandi. The collector has given conditional permission in this regard. According to the order, farmers will pack in onion, potato and garlic bags from their homes from 8 to 5 in the morning and bring it to the mandi. In the mandi premises, only licensed wholesaler or agent merchant will be able to participate in the auction process. Government auction will be banned in Mandi. The entry of the wholesaler, agent, hammer and loader will be completely banned.

Kherchi and unlicensed traders will not be allowed to come to the market. There will be a ban on consumers and business. If any of these people are found roaming in the market, then the police will take action. Farmers will be allowed to come to Mandi on the basis of their loan book, Aadhar card, yield. Mandi secretary Mansingh Munia and market in-charge Parvat Singh Sisodia have been appointed for monitoring. Entry of vehicles will be on the basis of booking only. A driver will remain with a farmer. Unnecessary empty vehicles will not stand in the market.
