The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) has begun a series of Awareness Programs for Central Pension Processing Centers and field functionaries in charge of pension-related activity in the bank. Because banks are the primary pension disbursing authorities, the first in the series will be held in Udaipur on the 20th and 21st of June 2022 for officers of the State Bank of India, covering the Northern part of the country. In conjunction with the State Bank of India, four such awareness programmes would be held around the country. In the same vein, in 2022-23, awareness initiatives will be held in partnership with other Pension Disbursing Banks.
Shri V Srinivas, DoPPW, Secretary to the Government of India, today inaugurated the Bankers' Awareness Programme in Udaipur on the 20th and 21st of June, 2022. The inaugural event was attended by Shri Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, DMD, SBI, Shri S N Mathur, Joint Secretary (DoPPW), Shri Bhupal Nanda, CCP, CPAO, Shri Subhash Joinwal, CGM, GBSSU, SBI, and Shri R K Mishra, CGM, SBI. This two-day training will bring together 50 officers from the northern zone's CPPCs and pension handling branches.
The goal of these programmes is to raise understanding of the different regulations and procedures governing the disbursement of pensions to Central Government retirees, as well as to keep field employees up to speed on changes that occur from time to time as a result of policy and procedural adjustments.
The program's goal is to help Bank officials better grasp the challenges they experience while dealing with these processes and pensioners' complaints. In the submission of life certificates, digital life certificates and facial authentication technologies would be a game-changer for pensioners and banks. These awareness campaigns would be an excellent way for bank employees to enhance their capacity.
