New Delhi: The 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) begins on April 9. Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play the opening match of the season against Mumbai Indians (MI). RCB cricket operations director Mike Hesson has said that captain Virat Kohli's form and rhythm will be crucial in reaching the team's big score in the upcoming 14th season of IPL. Hesson said during his interaction with the media, "He is in good rhythm at the moment. his speed is also superb. I think the way he has played in the T20 series against England shows how fantastic his pace and rhythm is and he can control the innings. When he batting for RCB, he looks at the same thing."
Hesson added, "I know Virat's confidence will grow. He is extremely passionate about playing for RCB. He will be batting in the top order in the upcoming season. We can't wait to see him scoring anymore." Kohli had returned to the pavilion without opening an account in the first T20 against England. But after that, he had played an unbeaten 73 and unbeaten 77 runs in the second and third T20s respectively. Kohli had also played 56 and 66 runs in the first and second ODI matches respectively.
