9 Indians aboard ship caught by Iran released, three still in custody

NEW DELHI: Nine of the 12 Indians aboard the iranian-seized vessel 'MT Reah' have been rescued. 21 Indians are still in Iranian custody, including three from MT 'Riah' and 18 Indians aboard the British oil tanker 'Stana Impero'.

Iran seized 'Stana Impero' from the Strait of Hormuz last week. In addition, 24 Indian members of the crew of the tanker 'Grace 1' are in the custody of Gibraltar police. Iran seized 'Stana Impero' from the Strait of Hormuz last week.

Earlier, it was reported that the crew members of the British oil tanker seized by Iran were "safe". This was disclosed on Wednesday by a Swedish company after talking to crew members who owns the tanker. In the Gulf of Harmuz, Stana Impero and its crew members were detained by Iran's Revolutionary Guard five days ago. The ship's proprietary company, Stana Balk, spoke to the crew captain on Tuesday and said they are all safe and that members of the Iranians aboard the ship are cooperating with them.
