Tehran: Muslim women have been protesting on the streets in the Islamic country of Iran against the Hijab for more than a month. There are also a large number of school girls among them. Now to crush the women's movement, Iran's police are detaining students who took part in these demonstrations and sending them to mental hospitals.

Iran's Education Minister Yousef Nouri himself confirmed this during an interview. Nouri has said that some school students have been detained and sent to a 'psychological institute'. He has contended that the authorities are doing these things to improve the girl students and prevent their "anti-social" behaviour. However, the education minister did not say the number of people who have been sent to mental hospitals.

At the same time, the international human rights organization Amnesty International has said in its new report that about 25 children were killed last month during the Iran Anti-Hijab Protest in Iran. The report also said that the security forces have deliberately targeted the youth. In its 19-page report released on Thursday (October 13, 2022), Amnesty said that at least 23 children were killed in the last 10 days of September alone. Some of them were just 11 years old. The victims included 20 boys and three girls aged between 11 and 17, two aged 16 and 17, amnesty said in a statement. Iran's security forces have killed 144 people between October 3 in protests that began after the death of Mehsa Amini in September 2022.
