Jerusalem: Israeli forces are preparing for a major ground assault in Gaza and have urged Palestinians to evacuate the area. Israeli military spokesman Richard Hecht has called on civilians in northern Gaza, where Hamas's leadership is located, to leave promptly. The army is gearing up for an attack on Gaza by land, sea, and air. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video message, stated that "more is coming" in response to Hamas's recent attack.

Approximately 1.1 million people, nearly half of Gaza's population, reside in the northern part of the region. Aid agencies have raised concerns about the difficulty of moving them due to the ongoing conflict. The Israeli blockade has led to shortages of essential supplies, including food, water, fuel, and medical provisions, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in Gaza. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres described the situation as "a dangerous new low."

An Israeli ground invasion raises additional concerns about the safety of 150 hostages, including foreigners, reportedly captured by Hamas during their recent actions. Israel has expressed its determination to eliminate Hamas, which several Western nations, including the US, have designated as a terrorist organization and compared to the Islamic State.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian commended Hamas's actions as a "historic victory" against Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hossein Amirabdollahian, in a meeting in Doha, Qatar, agreed to continue their cooperation to achieve the group's objectives.

World leaders, including US President Joe Biden, have cautioned against further escalation of the conflict. The US deployed a second aircraft carrier to deter hostile actions against Israel, with President Biden advocating for the protection of civilians.

Israel is also facing a potential confrontation on its northern border with Lebanon, where artillery exchanges have occurred with the Iran-backed Hezbollah group in recent days.

The recent hostilities were triggered by a mass breach of the Gaza-Israel border by Hamas operatives, resulting in the deaths of over 1,300 people. Israel responded with an intense bombardment, imposing a complete siege on Gaza and causing extensive damage to its infrastructure.
