Jerusalem: Demand for his resignation is gaining momentum with protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over how to deal with the Corona crisis amid allegations of corruption. In rallies against Netanyahu, a large number of protesters who are young, belong to the middle class and have little involvement in politics. They feel that Netanyahu's alleged corrupt rule and his ways of dealing with the Corona epidemic have pushed the future of the country's youth into darkness.
Researcher Tamar Harman of the Jerusalem Democracy Institute, a Jerusalem-based think tank and master of protest movements, said that the protesters are mainly middle class. They have become unemployed. Software expert and 25-year-old Shachar Oren, who took part in the protests against Netanyahu, said it was not just about the Corona crisis and the government's way of dealing with it. Rather it is also related to people who do not have food and who are unable to afford other essential things of life. I am one of them.
Oren is one of the thousands who gathered outside Netanyahu's official residence several times a week and demanded his resignation. Many young protesters have either lost their jobs or are worried about their future. They have taken to the streets against the PM and are shouting slogans against Netanyahu.
