NEW DELHI: Ministers from six states and two union territory will meet in Bengaluru on Saturday for a day-long conference to examine specific issues and challenges in the states/united territories surrounding the execution of the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen.

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Union Minister for Jal Shakti, would preside over this regional ministerial meeting to assess the progress made under both initiatives. According to a release from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the meeting would be place at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.

State ministers, along with senior employees from the rural water supply and sanitation agencies, will attend the meeting. During the conference, the states/UTs will have the opportunity to express their expectations of the ministry, so that timely assistance in implementing the program may be provided.

"The Prime Minister places a great importance on women's empowerment and healthcare, as seen by the fact that he has created two flagship programs that focus on water and sanitation, assuring 'ease of living' for women and young girls," Shekhawat added.
