On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued an order for the release of former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. Farooq was arrested in his house. He was kept locked in the house. The conditions on which the release has been done are still being ascertained.

According to media reports, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Friday canceled the Public Safety Act against Farooq Abdullah. The opposition created a lot of uproar over Farooq's custody. He was taken into custody since Article 370 was removed in Jammu and Kashmir. Farooq was in custody for about six months.
