Jammu: The outbreak of the second wave of coronavirus has led to disruption across the country. Many states have imposed stricter norms amid the surge of daily cases. Jammu & Kashmir Police have enhanced its efforts in the same regard.
The police is making efforts to sensitize the masses about controlling the highly contagious virus. Measures including restrictions under section 144 have been put into action. In view of the rising cases of deadly virus across the Kashmir Valley, Police also enhanced the efforts to implement restrictions strictly throughout the valley. The officials in last 24 hours have arrested 137 persons, lodged 70 FIRs. They have also realized fine to the tune of Rs 128,480/- from 874 people for violating the guidelines. Not only this, six vehicles were also seized in Bandipora. In the meantime, Ganderbal Police party led by SHO Police Station Safapora along with Executive Magistrate Lar in Safapora area found 12 shopkeepers violating the guidelines issued by the district administration.
A statement has been released by the Police, “Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.”
