NEW DELHI: Amid reports of an increase in the number of security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir, political turmoil in the state has intensified and the BJP is gearing up for the assembly elections on its own. On Tuesday, the BJP held a meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir team and discussed the poll preparations and the BJP is also preparing to celebrate the upcoming August 15th in the Valley. On the other hand, Panchayat chiefs will be asked to hoist the tricolour in their respective areas.

According to sources, a meeting of BJP Executive Chairman Jaypee Nadda with the J&K BJP team on Tuesday has discussed a number of issues and one of them has been the issue. In Jammu and Kashmir, BJP workers are gearing up to celebrate the 15th of August.

It is expected that local panchayat chiefs will be asked to hoist the tricolour in their respective areas and the panchayat chiefs will also get security for the same. It is also believed that the deployment of 10,000 additional security personnel in the past could be linked to that. However, this kind of confirmation has not yet been confirmed by the government.
