Srinagar: Two unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing operation in Kutpora area of Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir. More information is being awaited in the matter. Recently the army had piled up three terrorists while thwarting infiltration attempts in the Malchil sector adjoining LOC in Jammu and Kashmir.

However, four security personnel including an army officer in the encounter martyred. He said, during the night, the militants tried to infiltrate into the Indian territory in the Malchil sector of Kupwara district of North Kashmir. Officials said that the infiltrators were challenged by the soldiers and three of them were piled up.

He further informed that during the operation, three soldiers, in addition to a BSF soldier, an army officer, were received. Meanwhile, defence spokesman in Srinagar Col Rajesh Kalia informed that around 1 pm, BSF patrols witnessed suspicious activities near the Anti-Infiltration Observer System (Loc fence) about 3.5 km away from the Line of Control.
