J&K: Stone pelting in terror-hit Anantnag district, a Kashmiri truck driver killed

Srinagar: The case of stone-pelting on Sunday in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir has come to light. Noor Mohammad Dar, a Kashmiri truck driver, died late in the night while undergoing treatment in a stone-pelting incident. The incident is reported to be from Bijbehara police station area. Police have identified the stone-killer and taken him into custody.

The Bijbehara police have registered a case of murder against the stone-killer. The stone-pelting reportedly caused serious injuries to Dar's head. The deceased driver, Noor Mohammad Dar Bijbehara, was a resident of Jaradipura Uranhal in Bijbehara police station area. People pelted his truck as a vehicle of the armed forces. According to information, the injured Dar was immediately taken to Bijbehara Hospital for treatment. Doctors at Bijbehara Hospital referred Syed Shakeel Ahmed Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Saura after first aid in view of his serious condition. Dar was taken to SKIMS Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

A few days ago, a stone-pelting incident took place in downtown area of Srinagar, the capital of the valley. One girl was seriously injured in the stone-pelting incident. He had an eye injury. Section 144 is in force after the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, but some relaxation is also being given in between.
