Patna: The state government has termed the fast-unto-death of RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha ridiculous. Government Education Minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma and Building Construction Minister Dr. Ashok Chaudhary said in a joint press conference that Upendra Kushwaha's fast in the name of Kendriya Vidyalaya is purely political. They themselves are also confused and want to spread confusion among the people of the state.
He said that since 2005, Kushwaha wants to take credit for the countless commendable works done by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in the field of education in Bihar. Chaudhary said that the state government had cleared the central government first in 2007 and then in 2009 that we do not have land. Due to many works done in the field of infrastructure in Bihar, the price of land has skyrocketed. The state government will not provide land for any central educational institution.
He said that we had sent a letter to the Central Government in 2009 asking that the approval of the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bihar be given with the consent of the State Government. Even after taking a unilateral decision, Upendra Kushwaha approved two Kendriya Vidyalayas in 2018. He said that in the priority of Nitish Sarkar, 2950 panchayats have to start 9th class from April 1, 2020. If land is not available for these schools also, then from where will they give land to 2 Kendriya Vidyalayas?
