Tokyo: Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has declared a state of emergency in Tokyo, Osaka and 5 other provinces on Tuesday, after a sharp increase in cases of coronavirus infection in the country. PM Abe said on Tuesday that such situations are being created which are affecting the lives and economy of the people badly.

Along with this, unexpected alerts have been issued in the country after the imposition of emergency by the administration. Abe had earlier called a government meeting in which emergency was declared in Tokyo Osaka and 5 other areas. The Japanese PM had announced plans for a state of emergency a day earlier citing new cases of infection, particularly in urban areas such as Tokyo and Osaka.

The emergency is expected to go into effect from midnight and it will give the governors of the seven affected areas the right to live in homes from people and shut down institutions from enterprises. Other areas where the emergency has been imposed include Saitama, Kangwa, Chiba, Hyogo and Fukuoka. It is being told that the government fears that Corona virus infection may spread on a large scale in the country. In view of this, a decision of emergency has been taken.
