Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has officially admitted that 5142 people have died from corona in the state. State Health Minister Banna Gupta on Friday said this on a question by Congress MLA Irfan Ansari in the Jharkhand assembly. The Health Minister said that the state government will provide compensation of 50,000 rupees each to the dependents or family members of those who died from the corona.

It was reported in the Assembly that compensation would be paid to the family members on the basis of death certificates of those who died from the corona. If the families of the deceased from Corona are finding it difficult to get the death certificate, they can inform the committee set up in the districts. Congress MLA from Jamtara assembly constituency Irfan Ansari cornered his own government in the assembly on the issue. He said the number of corona deaths in the state is being hidden by officers. 5142 people have been reported to have died of corona in the state, but this is not the correct number. There have been more deaths in statistics.

On the same, Health Minister Banna Gupta said that the numbers are correct. Even then, if anyone has any separate news from these deaths, they can report it to the committee constituted in the district concerned. The Congress MLA also demanded an increase in the amount of compensation received on death from Corona, saying Rs 4 lakh each has been given in Bihar, while Jharkhand is paying only Rs 50,000. That is enough.
