Ranchi: From January 26, the Jharkhand government is going to provide a subsidy on petrol for two-wheelers. The government is engaged in necessary preparations before the launch of the scheme. People will have to do some necessary work first to avail this scheme. People covered by availing of this subsidy scheme will have to register first.
CM Hemant Soren launched the 'CMSUPPORTS' app for the same on Thursday. Ration card holders of Jharkhand can register on this app to avail the scheme. In addition, registration can also be done by visiting the government portal http://jsfss.jharkhand.gov.in. The benefit of the petrol subsidy scheme will be available to ration cardholders who are getting the benefit of the National Food Security Scheme or Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme. The state government's scheme is being highly appreciated. This is expected to provide a big relief to the poor population from expensive petrol. Under the scheme, eligible people will get a subsidy of Rs 25 per litre on petrol. This subsidy will be available only for up to 10 litres of petrol in a month. This means two-wheeler users in Jharkhand will be entitled to a subsidy of up to Rs 250 on petrol every month. The government will transfer the money to the beneficiary's bank account through DBT.
That's not what everyone is going to get the benefit of this scheme. The state government has laid down certain conditions for the same. Only those who have ration cards of the National Food Security Scheme or Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme will get the benefit. The ration card also requires the Aadhaar number of all the family members to be entered. The subsidy is only for two-wheelers registered in Jharkhand. The subsidy money will go to the vehicle owner's account. It also requires a valid driving license.
