Ranchi: In Jharkhand, the movement of Tana Bhagats sitting on the railway track for their demands has ended after 55 hours. Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has asked them to come to Ranchi to negotiate. Tana Bhagat was demanding the right to own the land and amend the Chota Nagpur Tenancy Act (CNT Act).

The CNT Act protects the rights of tribals of Jharkhand over water, forest and land. They say that according to the CNT Act, the ownership of the land belongs to Tana Bhagats, Orawas, Khadis and Munda tribes. DC Jishan Qamar of Latehar spoke to agitator Tana Bhagat and persuaded him to meet the Chief Minister. After this, the Tana Bhagats ended the sit-in last night. Tana Bhagat was sitting on protest for more than 55 hours near the Tory Junction of Barkakana-Barwadih railway block. Due to their movement, 70 goods trains had to be stopped. This led to a negative impact on coal transportation.

Tana Bhagat is a native of Jharkhand. Tana Bhagat, who follows the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, wears white clothes and a white Gandhi cap. This community has lagged behind in Jharkhand. However, these people perform non-violently to get their demands fulfilled.
