On spending 49 minutes on the court, El Sherbini eased herself into the quarter-finals which was 10 minutes less than the length of Chinappa’s third round encounter with Egypt’s Farida Mohamed. The pair’s first meeting came 11 years ago when El Sherbini was just 14 and Chinappa 23, with the latter winning in five games. The two matches since have gone the way of the Egyptian and she made it three on the bounce courtesy of an 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 victory.
