MUMBAI: The Mumbai Division of Indian Railways' Western Railway is set to carry out essential maintenance work on the UP and DOWN Slow lines between Santacruz and Goregaon stations on August 13. This planned disruption is necessary to ensure the proper upkeep of tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment.
Details of the Disruption: A substantial five-hour disruption, known as a "Jumbo block," will be implemented from 10 am to 3 pm.
During this period, as outlined in a statement by Shri Samir Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, all suburban trains on the SLOW line will be redirected to the FAST line between Santacruz and Goregaon stations.
Notably, SLOW suburban services will not make stops at Vile Parle and Ram Mandir stations in both directions due to platform unavailability on the fast lines. Consequently, passengers traveling between Vile Parle and Ram Mandir stations for their destinations will be permitted to travel in the opposite direction, according to a communication from Western Railways.
Some suburban train services will be temporarily canceled during this block, and certain Borivali-bound trains will terminate their journeys at Goregaon station.
In addition to the Jumbo Block on the Western Railways, a Mega Block is scheduled for the Central Line as well.
Central Line Mega Block Schedule:
Between Matunga and Mulund stations, a Mega Block will be in effect from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm on the Up and Down Fast Lines.
On the Harbour line, a Mega Block will occur between Mankhurd and Nerul stations from 11:15 am to 4:14 pm.
Notably, there will be no disruption on the Transharbour and Uran Lines during this time.
Further updates include an extension of the travel schedule for Train No. 09037/09038 Bandra (T) – Barmer Weekly Special Train at Special Fare. This extension, according to a statement by Shri Samir Thakur, is aimed at accommodating passenger needs and travel demands. The train, initially planned to operate until September 29, will now run until December 29
