Mumbai: The declining number of coronas in Maharashtra is now providing relief but there are still some districts where the infection has not stopped nor is it providing relief but is increasing. You remember, when the first wave of corona occurred last year, older people were more vulnerable to corona. In this case, young children, pregnant women at a higher risk of corona infection in the third wave, including the second wave. Due to this, the Government of Maharashtra is preparing a separate action plan for children and under this plan child covid centres are to be set up in several locations.

Under the information received, all facilities including beds, ventilators, ICU will be provided for children in such centres. Now, as per the recent information, a 500 bedded jumbo covid centre for children is being started in Mumbai under the same plan. In fact, experts have pointed out the highest risk to children in the third wave of corona. Keeping this in view, a 500 bed jumbo covid centre is being set up in Mumbai. It has been reported that the covid centre will be launched in Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray's voter area, Worli. Children from 1 year to 18 years will be admitted to the centre.

It will also be necessary for the mother to live with the same children. Keeping this in view, jumbo centre will be constructed from the cubicle system. It has been said that the centre will have 70 per cent oxygen beds and 200 ICU beds. Under the information received, the Jumbo Covid Centre at Worli will be ready by May 31. At the same time, three jumbo covid centres with a capacity of 2000 beds are also being set up at the other three locations in Muni. One is being manufactured at Somaiya Medical Centre in Sion and Kanjurmarg Crompton Company in Malad.
