Juvenile Justice Board to hear case today on Mercedes hit and run case

Thursday,June 2, 2016: Today,the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) will hear the Civil Lines Mercedes hit-and-run case. Delhi Police on May 26, filed a charge-sheet in the matter and also against his father and driver. The police moved a plea prior to the JJB, asking to try the minor accused of running over Siddharth Sharma as an adult.

The accused has been named a 'perpetual defaulter', as last year he had been fined three times ,twice for speeding and once for parking wrongly.

The charged ran above Sharma with his Mercedes in north Delhi's Civil Lines area on April 4. The Delhi sessions court defended the JJB's order granting bail to the juvenile.

JJB said that, “it is for the JJB to decide how long the child has to be kept in the reform home.”
