Bhopal: The Bhopal Crime Branch has written a letter to Twitter over the post of Leena Manimekalai, the director of the documentary film 'Kaali.' The Crime Branch has written to Twitter's legal department to remove Leena Manimekalai's post on 'Kaali'. In the letter, the Crime Branch has referred to sections of the IT Act and the IPC and asked to stop such posts. The letter to Twitter was sent following an order from Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. In which the objectionable content being posted has been asked to be removed within 36 hours.
The Bhopal Crime Branch has written to the legal department of Twitter citing Section 79 of the IT Act, 2000 that a case has been registered over the relevant content. The crime branch is investigating the matter. Whatever objectionable content is being published on your social media platform, it should be removed in 36 hours. Along with this, the necessary information should also be provided in the investigation of the case. The Crime Branch has asked Twitter's legal cell to take action within the stipulated time frame and send the report. The letter to Twitter came after the Home Minister's directive in which he had said that such posts of people with a perverted mindset like Leena Manimekalai, the director of the film Kaali, should be stopped which hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
After the post controversy of the same documentary film Kaali, filmmaker Lena Manimekalai made another post in which she showed the stars dressed up in the getup of Lord Shiva and Parvati smoking cigarettes. Home Minister Narottam Mishra had taken strong exception to this and asked it to write a letter to Twitter. Narottam Mishra has also written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah asking him to issue a look out circular notice against Leena Manimekalai.
