New Delhi: The New Zealand team is on a tour of Sri Lanka to play a three-match T20 series. The New Zealand team has been announced for the tour. New Zealand captain fast bowler Tim Saudi has been selected for the T20 series. New Zealand has rested their regular captain Kane Williamson and fast bowler Trent Bolt. In their absence, the Kiwi team has handed over the command of the 14-member team to Tim Saudi. The three-match T20 series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand is scheduled to take place from September 1.
Kiwi team captain Kane Williamson and pacer Trent Boult had already been rested by the New Zealand Cricket Board. So, after the Test series, the two players will return to the country. At present, the Sri Lankan team is leading the two-Test series 1-0. Kane Williamson and Trent Boult have played cricket consistently in the past.
Even the two players played a key role in reaching the final of the World Cup played in England and Wales. That is why the board has rested both these players. The New Zealand T20 squad has three specialist spinners, namely Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner and Todd Ashley.
