Kanpur: Polling has begun in 16 districts of the third phase in Uttar Pradesh today. Let us tell all of you that out of the 59 seats where polling is going on today, voting is going on in 10 seats of Kanpur and 3 seats of Kannauj. In the 2017 elections, out of the 13 seats in these two districts, the BJP had won nine, while the SP had won three and the Congress one. Let us tell you all that today polling is going on in 10 seats of Kanpur district (Bilhaur, Bithoor, Kalyanpur, Govindnagar, Sisamau, Arya Nagar, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur Cantt, Maharajpur and Ghatampur) and 3 seats of Kannauj (Chhibramau, Tirwa and Kannauj). On the other hand, former IPS officer Aseem Arun is in the fray on a BJP ticket from the Kannauj seat. With this, there are 59 seats at stake in the third round, of which 44 seats are for the general category and 15 seats are reserved.

In the 2017 elections, 49 out of 59 seats went to the BJP. The Samajwadi Party, which had earlier won 37 seats in 2012, was reduced to 8 seats in 2017. Let us also tell all of you that after having darshan at the historic Phulmati Mata temple in Kannauj, BJP candidate Aseem Arun started the day. Yes, while talking to a famous website, Aseem Arun said, "In the police, the language was orderly, in politics, the tone and emotion of the request have to be kept, for Kannauj, we have also given our Sankalp Patra among the people. On the other hand, Neha Tiwari, the elder sister of Khushi Dubey, who was made a co-accused in the Bikru case in Kanpur, cast her vote. Neha Tiwari is the Congress candidate from the Kalyanpur assembly seat.

In fact, she cast her vote at Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Inter College Ratanpur Colony Panki. Apart from this, according to reports, the EVM machine at KK Inter College booth number 300 of Kannauj Sadar Assembly was damaged. Polling was disrupted for about half an hour. The DM and SP came to the spot and took a visit.
