New Delhi: Yashpal Sharma, a former cricketer and member of the 1983 world champion Team India has passed away tragically. He died of a heart attack at the age of 66. Former captain Kapil Dev could not hold back his tears over Yashpal Sharma's death. Kapil Dev got emotional and started crying while remembering Yashpal Sharma on a TV channel.

Sharma scored 1606 runs in 37 Tests for India. His highest score was 140 and averaged 33.45 runs. In ODI cricket, he scored 883 runs in 42 matches at an average of 28.48. His members of the 1983 cricket World Cup-winning team can't believe it. Yashpal's colleagues Kapil Dev, Madan Lal, and Kirti Azad are all saddened to hear this news. He says it's like, the departure of a family member of his own.

Kirti Azad, a member of the 1983 World Cup team, said, 'Our family broke up. Yashpal had set the agenda for the 1983 World Cup. We met on June 25. He was extremely happy. He was the fittest of all of us.' While Madan Lal said Yashpal had left us, he could not believe it. He said that he had called Kapil Dev on receiving the news, it was difficult for him to believe it too.
