Bangalore: The mother of Praveen Nettaru, a young BJP worker who was recently murdered, has demanded that the murderers of her son be hanged. She said "The guilty should be given strict punishment, whoever did this should be hanged. Nettaru, riding a bike, was brutally killed by unidentified assailants in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka on Tuesday.''
There was a huge uproar in the Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday after the murder of a BJYM member. At many places, vehicles were pelted with stones, after which the police had to resort to lathi-charge. A bandh has been called in Puttur, Kadaba and Sullia taluks to protest the killings. Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging him to get the matter investigated by the NIA.
So, Praveen Nettaru (32), a member of the district BJP Yuva Morcha committee, was killed by unidentified assailants in front of his shop in Bellare on Tuesday night. Police said Nettaru was on his way back home after closing his shop, in the meantime, unidentified miscreants who came on a bike attacked him. Nettaru tried to escape but fell to the ground after being hit on the head. The locals immediately informed the police. Police rushed to the spot and took the blood-soaked Nettaru to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
