Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai paid a visit to Bengaluru's Manyata Tech Park on Tuesday, one of the city's greatest technology hubs that has turned into a lake due to the city's persistent rain.

"After arriving here, I saw that rainwater is running backwards into the campus instead of out. In addition, the storm drain is overflowing. I've ordered the tech park administration to get things rectified on the inside of the campus, and we'll take care of the outside repairs and measures" Bommai said.  Inside the campus, there are several engineering issues that need to be addressed. According to Bommai, BBMP officers were told to work together to tackle the difficulties, he said

Manyata Tech Park, on the Outer Ring Road near Nagawara Lake, is claimed to be built on the Hebbal Valley's storm water drain. The water will not leave the campus, and the authorities will need to devise a new strategy to avoid similar occurrences in the future.

The BBMP had filed a complaint against the Park, alleging that it was diverting natural water flow and encroaching on an open sewer. The same scenario will recur if no action is taken and this is not remedied, according to BBMP sources. Manyata Embassy Business Park, also known as Manyata Tech Park, is one of Bengaluru's most prominent software centres, spanning 300 acres. Most of the world's top corporations, as well as India's, employ over 1,50,000 people.
