BENGALURU: The Karnataka Central Crime Branch's anti-narcotics unit has detained a Nigerian national who used to make synthetic drugs in a pressure cooker in his home and sell them on the domestic and international markets.
The police squad seized cocaine, MDMA, and chemical compounds worth Rs 50 lakh from his hands, and they will be paid Rs 70,000 for the catch, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said.
The arrested person has been recognised as Richards. The police have initiated a search for a second suspect who is a foreign national. The accused operated out of the Soladevanahalli police station, which is located on the outskirts of Bengaluru. They bought raw materials for making medicines in Mumbai and Delhi, as well as from other nations. They made MDMA crystals in their kitchen using a pressure cooker.
The accused arrived in Bengaluru on a business visa in 2019. Richards was found with 900 grammes of cocaine, 50 grammes of MDMA crystals, and 580 grammes of Sodium Hydroxide crystals valued Rs 50 lakh.
