Chekwume Malvin, a Nigerian actor who has appeared in films such as "Singham," "Vishwaroopam," and many more, including Bollywood films, has been detained in Bengaluru on drug trafficking allegations, according to police sources. Police are currently investigating his ties to the Sandalwood film business in this city, as well as Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and other places.

Chekwume Malvin, 45, was detained by Karnataka police while on a medical visa at Bhattarahalli near K.R.Puram. On September 27, he was detained while attempting to sell drugs to clients. The accused individual was found with 15 grammes of MDMA and 250 ML of hashish oil worth Rs 7.5 lakh by the police.

The accused has appeared in 20 Indian films, including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, according to authorities. He has also starred in the Kannada films "Annabond" and "Paramatma." The defendant has studied film acting at the New York Film Academy in Nigeria and Mumbai. According to the police, he has also appeared in three Nigerian films.

According to the authorities, the accused has turned to drug dealing in order to get quick money. He was detained by the police under the 1985 Narcotics, Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigations are now underway.
