Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC ) will soon start the online booking of helicopter service for the temple. Pilgrims can now book their tickets from the IRCTC website.

For the first time, the Uttarakhand government has given the duty of booking helicopters for Kedarnath to IRCTC. Now passengers for Kedarnath will book their tickets from IRCTC site. For this, MoU has also been signed between Uttarakhand Government and IRCTC.

As per reports, the services' trial run would be over by March 31 and reservations would likely start to be accepted on April 1. The DGCA had released a directive in February for the management of helicopter pilgrimage operations in 2023.

This comes after the IRCTC and the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) recently inked an MoU for a period of 5 years to provide pilgrims to Shri Kedarnath Dham with a service to book helicopter tickets.
Helicopter services for the 2023 Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra must be reserved through the IRCTC Heliyatra website, according to the official website notification.

However, in order to reserve the helicopter services, visitors to the Kedarnath holy temple must first complete a required registration with the Uttarakhand Tourist Development Board. The Tourist Care Uttarakhand App can be downloaded on a mobile device, and WhatsApp is also an option for resuscitation. On mobile number 91 8394833833, pilgrims only need to type Yatra to begin the registration procedure.

One of the most well-known Hindu pilgrimages in India is the Chardham Yatra, which is held in Uttarakhand. Four holy places located in the Himalayas, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, are visited during this pilgrimage. While the Gangotri Temple Committee will begin opening the temple doors on April 22 for Akshaya Tritiya, the doors of Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham will open on April 25 and 27, respectively.

A total of 6.34 lakh pilgrims have registered for the Char Dham Yatra, of which 2.41 lakh have registered for Kedarnath Dham, according to a statement made earlier on Sunday by the Uttarakhand Tourist Development Council.
