New Delhi: Devotees visiting Kedarnath will get a big relief as their journey will be shortened by 2 KMs. The district administration has started an e-rickshaw at Kedarnath Dham on the lines of Vaishno Devi. For this, the administration and the temple committee are going to use e-rickshaws to bring devotees from Rudra Point to the temple.

After which, while devotees had to travel 16 kilometres to reach Kedarnath Dham, they will now have to travel 2 kms less. Meaning, pilgrims will now have to walk only 14 km to reach Kedarnath Dham. In order to reduce the walking distance at Kedarnath Dham, the administration and the temple committee have started preparations and the track from Rudra Point to the temple has been started.

The scheme is expected to be tried in October this year and if the administration succeeds, the scheme can be implemented in full force next year when the gates of Lord Kedarnath are opened to devotees. To reach Kedarnath Dham from Lincholi, devotees have to climb upato the stands, where people face a lot of difficulties.
