In Delhi, the assembly elections are not far away, but the people are not getting any relief. In Delhi's Baljit Nagar, just 8 km from the country's Parliament, the consumption of water increases during the summer season, but the supply is not in terms of consumption. There are water pipes in the area, but they do not contain water. These people are dependent on the tankers of the Delhi Jal Board for water.

But the people here complain that even tankers do not come daily, sometimes two days, sometimes three days and sometimes once a week, when the tanker comes, it is bound to be a snatch for water. It is not in a recent area. Several areas of Delhi including Sangam Vihar, Devli, Mahipalpur, Okhla Sanjay Colony, Chattarpur, Bhati Mines, Neb Sarai, Maidangarhi, Najafgarh, Dabri and Narela are reeling under severe water scarcity this summer.
