CHANDIGARH: In the run-up to the February 20 Assembly votes in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday made three announcements to woo businessmen and traders by insuring their safety and removing bureaucratic difficulties.

In Mohali, close here, with AAP's chief ministerial candidate Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal pledged that no leader or official would intimidate anyone or get him raided for the safety of the businessmen. "If any of our MLAs or ministers begs for a share from a businessman after the creation of the AAP government in Punjab, we would take swift action against him," the Delhi Chief Minister warned the reporters.

He alleged that leaders of the Akali Dal and the ruling Congress in the state demand share and weekly cuts from the traders. "People who refuse to pay are threatened with raids if they do not pay. Punjab's businessmen are plagued by crooked politicians and officials. To alleviate traders' fears, we would entirely abolish the 'inspector raj' and unlawful taxation, resulting in a business-friendly climate "said the AAP's leader.

Kejriwal appealed for support from all traders and 'arhtiyas,' saying that this time they should give the Aam Aadmi Party a chance. "We will win your hearts, just as we have won the hearts of traders in Delhi," he declared.
