There has been a piece of shocking news from Kerala recently. In fact, what happened in Malappuram here made everyone lose their senses. The 17-year-old girl reportedly became pregnant after an alleged physical relationship with her boyfriend and then gave birth to the baby by watching youTube videos at home. The girl's family did not know anything about it. Police are said to have informed about the same last Wednesday. The mother and the girl have been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Manjeri after registering a case under the POCSO Act against the accused lover in the case and both are healthy.

Police say the girl and her child are being taken care of by the accused's family but they (police) are taking it as a rape case as she is only 17 years old. The youth has been arrested under POSCO Act and Section 376 (Rape) of IPC in the case. In the entire case, the police said that the case has come under the Kottakal police station in the district. Police say the girl gave birth to the baby by watching YouTube in her home on October 20 and cut her umbilical cord. Police further said the initial investigation revealed that she had not taken any external help during delivery.

Police further said that the girl's parents came to know about the incident on October 22 when they heard the child crying. The girl reportedly studies in class XII and her parents are visually impaired, so they did not know anything about the girl getting pregnant. The girl was in a relationship with a 21-year-old man and the two had been having an affair for some time. The girl had plans to get married when she was 18 years old.
