Kerala: Actor PC George, well-known villainous roller no more

KOCHI: Actor P C George, notable for his villainous roles in Malayalam cinema, passed away Friday morning at a private hospital in Ernakulam. He was 74, and suffering from illness.

 He has done notable roles in films like Chanakyan, Atharvam, Innale and Sangam. He is a native of Koratty in Thrissur. He will be buried at St Joseph Bethlehem Church in Karukutty tomorrow. He was special branch SP. He has acted in 78 films. George has worked with many prominent Malayalam directors including K G George and Joshy. He was also part of many good films. He was not active in films for quite some time due to health issues.
George had retired from the rank of SP of police and was known for the various villain roles he played. However, he began his acting in the theatre and soon graduated to Malayalam films.

His film career got the break after he was posted in the state capital city in the early eighties and his career graph went steep after his stellar performance in the Mammootty starrer- 'Sangham' in 1988 and since then he had no reason to look back.

The last rites would be held on Saturday at his home parish near Thrissur.
