Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan says the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) report was for the state government and he had no role in it. In fact, the CAG's accounting report stated that 25 Special INSAS rifles and 12,061 cartridges were found with the Kerala Special Armed Police Battalion (SAPB). However, the Kerala Police denied all the allegations, saying that none of their rifles had gone missing.

Arif Mohammad Khan has said, 'This is for the government, not for me. There is a process for everything. We have institutions and we must learn to respect them. This report will go to the PAC, from there the report can be sent to the Assembly. I have no role in that. ' At the same time, the opposition Congress and BJP have attacked the state government over the issue and demanded action against the chief of police.

A statement issued by the Kerala Police Media Center stated that, according to the CAG report, 25 INSAS rifles are reportedly missing. The investigation till now by the Crime Branch has revealed that not a single INSAS rifle is missing. The allegations made by the CAG are baseless. The crime branch is again carrying out physical verification of all weapons issued to the Special Armed Police (SAP).
