THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The ruling  Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala today, April 1, celebrated its second anniversary of retaining power in the 2021 Assembly election , the Opposition staged a protest observing it as black day.

Lealding the protest, Leader of the Opposition V D  Satheesan claimed that due to Vijayan's "misrule," Kerala has become the state with the highest in debt.

"The state government imposed a burden of Rs 5,000 crore on the populace, but Chief Minister Vijayan is in the mood to celebrate by releasing commercials to mark the anniversary. Beginning on Saturday, the public will have to pay an extra Rs. 2 for fuel, which would result in an increase in prices overall "Satheesan stated.

Petrol price in Mahe, the part of Puducherry, which is sandwiched between Kannur and Calicut district is cheaper by Rs 15 per litre, while diesel is cheaper by Rs 13 as compared to Kerala.

"Due to its inability to collect taxes, the Vijayan government has turned into an abject disaster. Vijayan needs to be transparent about how his assistance helped Gokulam Gopalan's Chit Fund company. No payments beyond Rs. 5 lakh were being made, and the state treasury has run dry. Everything is a complete disaster "Sateesan tacked on.

As part of the celebrations for the second anniversary, Chief NMinister Pinarayi Vijayan has released various media advertising in which he claims that his goverbnnment has made every effort to create a "new Kerala."
