Kochi: Government of Kerala has accepted that community transmission of corona has started in the state. In this way, Kerala has become the first state in India, where the community transmission of Corona has been officially accepted. The state government believes that the corona infection has now spread from the residential areas of Kerala to the villages. Community transmission means that the detection of its source has become difficult and anyone in some area may have a coronavirus.

On Wednesday, for the first time in Kerala, 1038 cases of corona were reported in a single day. Since then, the total infectious population has reached 15032. As of Wednesday, Corona's active cases figure was 8,818. On Wednesday itself, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said that 785 people had already become positive due to exposure to corona infected person, while 57 other people have not got information about where corona infection has come from. However, it was feared that community transmission of infection is happening in the state.

On Wednesday, 20,847 samples have been investigated in the state. About 1,59,777 people are under surveillance, out of which 9,031 people are admitted in hospitals. 1164 people were admitted to the hospital in a single day. According to the CM, the situation in Thiruvananthapuram remains very serious. Out of 226 cases of the district, 190 were positive due to contact of infected people, whereas fifteen people did not get information about where the infection occurred. Apart from this, there are 8 health workers among positive people.
