Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Saturday will hear Malayalam actor Dileep's anticipatory bail application in a case filed by the Kerala Police Crime Branch for allegedly intimidating investigation personnel investigating the Actress Assault Case.
The petition was heard today by a single bench of Justice P Gopinath, who adjourned it till January 22. "Not that this case is more important than others," the court stated, "but I hear there is a counter-affidavit and a lot of information to go over.""We can have a patient hearing tomorrow and make a decision based on it. On January 9, the Kerala Police Crime Branch filed a new case against movie actor Dileep and five others for allegedly threatening investigating officers. They were charged with abetment of an offence punishable by imprisonment, 118 (concealing design to commit an offence punishable by death or life imprisonment), 120B (partly criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (criminal intimidation) (criminal act done by several people).
In the FIR, Dileep is named as the first accused. The second and third accused are Dileep's brother Anoop and Dileep's brother-in-law Suraj.
